Kinda OT: uses for water after freshwater tank water change

Just wondering if anyone uses the water from a freshwater tank change to water their plants? Since it is usually high in nitrates, I would think it would be a great fertilizer. Any thoughts?

I have used my waste water from my RODI to wash clothes. I don't think I would use tank water to wash clothes though. Even though I have a Speed Queen, there is an icky factor thinking about washing my clothes in goldfish poo! :eek2:

Used to use my dirty freshwater for potted plants and hanging baskets outside, not sure about inside plants. Or if the husband is acting up there is always the washing machine......

Koi pond waste water directly to the grape vines. Grapes=wine. That's why I have a 2000 gallon pond. To help make more wine ;)

I must (get it, must? Sorry, that was a bad pun.) inquire where you are located. I'm currently working on degrees in Enology and Viticulture. I'm also a homebrewer and home winemaker. I propose to you a wine filled holiday in the sun at your vineyard. If you'd like to wax intellectual on anything Vitis, shoot me a PM. Catch me at the right time, and I'll even help you with pruning/ training.
