I am having troubles with taking macro pics with this camera. I use the macro setting and try to zoom in on and object but everytime I do this the object comes out blurry. Is this just the nature of the camera (inexpensive) or just me not know on how to use. It is a 5 mega pixel, and I have tried Autoformat. Any suggestions?

It could well be that the lens focuses closest when the lens is zoomed all the way out. It should be covered in the manual in the section that explains the macro button.

I couldn't find a full review on the camera but I looked at the specs. The minimum focus distance is 10cm, so be sure you're not getting any closer than that. With the lens zoomed out try aiming the camera at something that is approx. 10-12cm away and has lots of detail and contrast (not smooth and of a single color). You should be able to get it in focus. When it's in focus try zooming in and refocusing on the same subject, with the camera the same distance.
When you're checking focus just press the shutter release button halfway to engage the autofocus-- once the af has locked on you can take the picture. If the af was locked on and the picture is blurry then you have a different issue- one that a tripod will solve or else faster shutter speeds.

Also, how are people able to get such large pics and yet stay under or at the 50kb file size when uploading to Reef Central.

Short answer: we aren't :p
Long answer: most of us use image hosting websites, or our own websites, and then link to those pictures. It's the same process as linking to a picture in your RC galllery though.
This Reefkeeping Magazine article has tutorials on how to resize your image, a few basic editing suggestions, some good image hosting suggestions and instructions on how to link to the pictures you upload.
