Kodak Z740 Camera Questions

A year ago I purchased a Kodak Z740 Digital Camera for a gift for my fiance graduating from Ohio State as she loves to take photos. I have been getting better at taking pictures with the camera but I feel that it can take better pictures. I ordered a macro lense kit with a +1, +2, and +4 along with a 52mm Adapter tube. I have also purchased a 52mm polarized filter. I have the oppurtunity to take pictures for a local coral farms web site and would like to offer the best photos I can with the camera we have so buying another one right now is out of the question. The corals are being grown in a greenhouse with natural sunlight. Glare sees to be a big problem so that is the reason I picked up the polarized filter to reduce the glare. I was wondering is a camera hood would make a diff. enough to pic n up or is the filter enough? I have tried to research our cameras manual setting and can't find much info about them. The camera has a PASM setting where I can manualy adjust Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual exposure modes. To me that is all french. I guess I am looking for a few pointers on how to take the best pictures I can. I take pictures in my tank and I seem to loose the intense colors my corals are? Any help would be great!
