kodyboy, typhoon owners-need help

I just bought/installed the typhoon HOB skimmer one week ago. I have a 45 gal mixed reef tank that has previously had an inadequate skimmer. The typhoon is producing a lot of bubbles in the chamber, but no skimmate. I know there's a break-in period, but I would think one week would be adequate. The sloped area is that dark green/black color. I have it adjusted to the point where the top of the skimmer slopes back. Is this correct?
I know kodyboy has had success with this skimmer.
Please tell me how to adjust this so it pulls some gunk.
Thanks in advance.

Sak 5, you have a tube connected to your typhoon down to a container right? The method D & D has is to push the foam up into the top part that is normally the collection unit and it pushes the nasty skimmate through the top back portion of the skimmer and into the container. A week should be long enough for breakin time. You need to make sure the skimmer is level from my understanding, don't lean it. I'm sure kody will chime in here soon enough. Don't freak out just yet, some skimmers take a couple weeks to really start to work properly.

luke33, kodyboy-thanks for the prompt replies.
I have a tube at the top that empties into an empty milk jug. As of now, the jug is still empty. I have the water level adjusted just as shown on the link (thanks-i wasn't sure i had it adjusted right). as for level, i think i am but i'll check when i get home.

maybe i just need to wait a little while longer?
thanks again.

Maybe turn up the flow in it a bit, that may work, then as it starts to skim light colored skimmate, throttle it back til its dark as you want it....and make sure its not clogged : )
