damn,,didnt ever think this would have been an issue but my kole goes after the blenny whenever he sees it out. i guess others have had similiar issues. has anyone have same problem where after awhile it settled down. been about a week now. im guessing though that this will just go on. i want to keep the blenny so i guess part of the tank has to come down to catch the kole.. that blows took me 6 months of arranging to get the thing the way i want it to look.

They share the same diet so will always be considered competition. You could try adding more food like nori at the end of the tank you least see the blenny. That way the tang might begin to hang around that end and associate it with food more and give the blenny some rest.
A friend had a blue eye and algae blenny in his tank which is 4x2x2ft and they do coexist. The blenny does take the odd bashing but just seems to sit there and take it like a man and isn't particularly bothered now. It also never has marks or split fins so i guess its more of a dominance thing than a pure out attack. So it can work but equally heard many stories of the tang killing the blenny. Its the same for all bristletooth tangs.
