Kole Yellow Eye Tang question

Hi,

I recently added a kole yellow tang to my aquarium. I have had him for about 3 weeks and since adding him in, I haven't seen him eating any food. I only see him picking at the rocks. I grinned up food on my own. I put shrimp, seaweed, flakes and some other stuff. The other fish love it, but it seems like he is not interested at all.

I put in Nori and he doesn't even eat that.
I also realized that he is picking off the purple on my rocks. Is that good? Do they usually do that? I am working hard to get my rocks to a nice color but he is eating it instead.

What can I do or what can I feed him to stop doing that.

appreciate any help thnx.

it takes them a while to learn to eat out of the water column. mine took months. do you have any other fish that will eat nori off of a clip? they do seem to learn by observing.

If it is picking off the rocks use a rubber band and put some nori on a rock and use the rubber band to hold it in place . It worked for my Foxface and he would not take it from a clip . stubby

yeh what I do is have the magnet cleaner hold the nori in place. All the fish eat it, just not him. The food will be right in front of him and he will instead pick at the rocks. I just hope that he wont eat off all the purple on the rocks, bec it took me a while to get it on there. Anything else he would like to eat?
