Koralia Experiences?

Does anyone have/had a Koralia powerhead in there anemone tank? How did you anemone proof it? Did it work well? Was the flow O.K. for the anemone (i.e: even if the anemone was in the direct flow path of the powerhead, it didn't shred apart.)? And lastly, did you use it on a wave timer or do you think a wave timer is nessesary? Sorry for all these questions you will likely start seeing pop up quite frequently on this forum, I'm just trying to make sure I get everything right and have a big healthy anemone. Also thanx in advance if you took the time to read this long question.

wave timers are no good for koralias. If an anemone was in the direct path of the flow it wouldnt get torn apart, it would get blown aorund the tank, or it would move from too much flow. The one thing you do have to worry about is a new anemone getting sucked into the side of the powerhead if it is floating around near it. Put some thinner filter foam around the powerhead sides for a while to avoid this from happening during anemone acclimation.

My Koralia's have been very good thus far. I know several people who use them and they have held up great.

i run two korallia 4s in my 60 gallon cube. my magnificas all sit about four inches infront of them receiving about 75% of their direct flow. i also have a korallia 3 in my 45 gallon with my heteractis crispa. ive been very pleased with their flow, i just wish they werent so big.

i have not anemone proofed them, but only because im confident enough that my anemones wont move. i dont have them on wave timers because they would click noisily every time they turn back on, if they even turn back on at all....

I have a 2 korallia 1s and a korallia 3 in my tank with a wave timer. Its been going now for almost a year now. I havent had any problems I get a click every once and a while but other than that not a problem and couldnt be happier with the set up. But I dont have an anemone.......yet

I have 2 koralia 4's and 1 koralia 3 in my tank with a bta very close to them. I didnt anemone proof them but yesterday my anemone decided to move and got caught. Luckily, when I got home it was stick to the koralia but not got in so it didnt get chopped.

We cut up a stocking and put on the Korallia but only when we are introducing an anemone to our tank or if one seems to be moving around.

Here is my setup. 2 K3s and 1 modded mj1200 in a 40 bdr. Once the LTA settled down I have had no problems. Sorry for the bad pic.
