Koralia magnet-suction cup

can i put the suction cup magnet in water ?
i have a 29 bio cube and want to but the magnet in the filter side of the tank so they will get wet.
my first question is can they get wet?
will they rust or not?

I have mine inside of my overflow with no ill effects so far. Been this way about 6 months or so.

Same here, its been in the overflow for months now. No problems.

The magnet that is hooked to the pump is the same as the one you put on the outside of the tank. The side that you put in the water just has a cover that will twist off. The cover holds the red thing that sticks into the back of the pump to the magnet.
