Koralia or Modded MJ's?

I need a couple more powerheads for my 120 I'm working on. I can't justify the cost of the tunzes. I'm thinking of the Koralia 4's but want to know how they compare to a modded MJ 900. Price is right around the same. I like the mounting of the Koralia better with the swivel-type mount.

I have two mjmod 1200s and the flow they put out is amazing! I also have two tunze nanostream 945s and I do not think both put out what one mj1200 mod does! Scary waterflow! In addition I glued an old seio swivel bracket to mine and used a magnet hanger and now I have a nice swivel type mount on my mj mod!

I modded a mj 1200, tried to do a good job and fallow the directions. The pump worked well for awhile, then it would want to run backwards hitting the stop and going correctly but then trying to go the wrong direction eventually breaking the propeller or the stop and just running the wrong direction. I bought the Koralia , it is relatively inexpensive and it has been working flawlessly for 3 months.

I have two modded 900's and like them. They put out too much flow for my 45g so I trimmed down the prop to decrease the flow. I just wanted to know how the Koralias compared to them. I'm stepping up from a 45g to a 120 and need a few more powerheads.

Work with what you have... take the 900's and replace the props. The 900 using the smaller 1435 prop, and the larger housing intended for the 1.25" prop flows really well and gives a nice wide dispersed pattern. You could change those props out and the total cost with shipping from mjmods wouldn't be over $10.

What I'm trying to say is that I need more powerheads for the new tank. By the time I buy more MJ's plus the kits to mod them, the price is almost equal to that of the Koralia, if not a couple bucks more. I'm just looking for opinions on which one is better, a modded MJ 900 or a Koralia 4? Both in terms of mounting, amount of flow and dispersion.

Koralia have good flow and dispersion. 4 of them in a 120 would imho
be good, although the modded mj1200 puts out more flow.
