After noticing a skimmer going crazy with skimate, I noticed that my brown gigantia had decided to climb up the glass and anchor his foot around the base of the Koralia pump. Now he had not moved in over a year, must have been a reaction to the recent water change - maybe i did not let the water aerate and circulate as long as I normally do before a change. You can guess the result - I pried him out of there with very rough handling thinking he was already toast. Now about 10 days later after being tore up, he is 80% recovered and looks healthy. Now the giant blue in the same tank got really stressed from the murky water and he is still looking rough. Shows two things, 1. how robust the established S Gigantia is and 2. how delicate they are the first several months to a year in the tank.
Someone ask earlier for a pic of the small green Gigantia i picked up a few weeks back. He is nothing to look at, a long shot at best. Bought him faded, attached and about half as sticky on the tentacles as he should be. He is about the same. If he starts look like a survivor I will post a pic or two. The pair of young percs in the tank with him are happier with him in their.
