What is everyone ones opinon on these. I know nothing about them, but would like some thought from you guys. Do they run hot or are they loud. Just give me some thoughts. Also where can i get a good deal on 2 or 3 of the 1200 gph ones. Also what exact controller can I use on them thanks anthony

We gave one away yesterday at the swap and Piper got lucky :)

I have had them in three tanks for about a month now and like the flow. They are no Tunze, but they have the closest flow pattern to them that I have yet to see. I think they should have used stronger material just because they feel a bit flimsy. I had one stop working on me after installing it but after unplugging and plugging back in it has worked non-stop. Issues with the models 2-3 are being worked out and both will be available again in April according to a rep I talked with today.

Pros-
1 Great flow! especially with two.
2 Beats 3 maxi-jets IMO
3 Magnet mount is GREAT
4 PRICE!

Cons-
1 flimsy feeling plastic prob not going to last as long as the counterpart.
2 may seize at times
3 cant be used with a wave controller unless it uses ramped switching.

Bottom line IMO, if your budget doesn't allow more pricey well built options (Tunze, Seio, etc) these will give every new hobbyist the flow that they desperately need for a reef tank.

Where to find them. Everywhere, if Im right these things will be available as wide spread as Maxi-Jets and become among the top 3 most wanted powerheads around.

So A seio m1500 would be better to get than koralia 4 because they are better built. I just can't buy a tunze system right now

IMO the flow and dispersal of the Koralia trumps the Seio. But the Seio seems built better, is it? I don't really know. Does it matter in the long run? I can't say for sure, use your own best judgment on this and get the one that works the best for your own needs. If you are doing a serious SPS dominant system I recommend Tunze or Koralias. If you just need some supplemental great flow in a basic system, maybe not as wide of a pattern then Seio is a great choice IMO.

If you are interested in purchasing a tunze anytime, which IMO is the best system made, ever! then I would see about getting one on credit and not waste my money on something that you will be replacing in the future with a tunze. Tunze all the way, you can not go wrong.

If you're not planning on playing football with it I wouldn't worry. I haven't seen one yet but everybody seems pleased especially for the price. I understand they run fine on the seio controller.
I'm thinking about getting rid of my Tunze 6060 and replacing it with a couple of the 4s.

at foster and smith right now there is only like 2 or 3 bucks differance in the price of the two. So should I spend the extra couple bucks and get the seio

I like Seios but I do not have any experience with the koralias except the flow I felt coming out of them at Jo Mars. I think the Seio's have more push but like Ron said they do not disperse flow as well as the Korallis. Of course I was judging the #4 to a 2600 Seio. The #4 is rated at 1500 so this is not a very good comparison. Anyway, I think I would go with the 2600's if I were setting up a larger tank for SPS coral. If I were setting up a mixed reef or softie tank I would probably use the #4's. I also like how the koralias have a magnet already attached to them so you do not have to buy them separately.

IME- if you really want to know the best thing to do is not waste your money on either and save up for a tunze if you have the time to wait.

Don't forget the tunze nanostream 6055's (electronically controllable) should be released soon! I plan on adding a pair to my cube.
