Koralia

I have a 75 gallon tank. Currently, there are 3 Maxijet ph's in it. The first issue is they never stay on the glass, no news there. Secondly, I'm pretty sure I still have dead spots. One of the Maxijets is actually my saltwater mix pump, I threw it in the tank last night because an older ph stopped working.

Considering the fact that one PH will come out of the tank and go back into storage for salt mixing, I was wondering what I should get to replace/add to the tank.

I am 99% decided on the Koralia. The question is which one(s). Should I get 2 Koarlia 1's, 2 Koralis 2's, or 1 Koralia 4? I know the 4 is large, not that worried about that.

Seems that all that are available are 1's and 4's. I'm leaning towards 2 1's.

Two 1's won't be nearly enough for a 75g. I would say wait until the 3's come back in and order 2 (3 would be ideal if you can afford it) of those. The Koralia's from what everyone says have a nice super wide flow pattern. If I had a 75g I'd get 3 of the model 3's, put one in each of the rear corners and aim them at a 45 degree angle towards the front of the tank and put one in the middle of the tank on the back glass aimed straight ahead blasting the front of the tank. I would say that would evenly disperse your flow and you'd be happy but it's just my .02 :-)

I have been looking at the hydor's also for my 75g. I am leaning towards the #4's myself since I would like some sps eventually. I would think that if you are staying w/ soft corals the #3's would be ok. Chance's are you could remove the mj's also, but see what others have to say on that.

No, Koralias in place of the MJ's. I think you could do model 4's like the above poster said if you wanted. Depending on how you like the looks of them aesthetically...there is a difference in size between the model 3's and model 4's (obviously bigger). Basically the model 4's are the size of a regular Coke can, if you can fit 2 or 3 of them in your tank and don't mind the size then i say go for the 4's.

2400-3600 gph in addition to my return pump? Seems like overkill. Won't the sand be all over the place?

I have 3600gph running in a CL plus 1200gph on my return in a 48x24x24 tank. No problem here.

didn't realize you had a return as well...so maybe just two model 3's in each rear corner aimed at a 45 degree angle towards the front of the tank in sort of a "V" pattern. Those plus your return should be plenty of flow as mentioned the Koralias have a very wide and dispersed flow pattern.
