L/F frogspawn

Keeping mine on the sand bed kinda under a rock over hang in a shaded area. So far still the same color as when i got it from roger.

Roger,

Your LED information in 100% correct. Not that I was doubting you, but I wanted to provide some additional feedback.

The coral I got that was very dark purple and green, has now, just 24 hours later, turned a lighter green and purple.

I'm convinced and I'm looking to add T5 lights to my tank. I'll start another thread to get recommendations on which light to use, but wanted to share.

I'm converted.

White led is very strong it tends to lighten corals up. U need to give more info on your LEDs to help u choose how to make proper adjustments.

Roger,

I currently have a DIY system with the following:
  • Total 3W LEDs: 48 (144Watts)
  • Blue and Royal Blue LEDs: 30
  • White (14,000K):10
  • Green: 2
  • Purple: 6

I have it running on a controller with sunrise up to the amounts below:
  • Blue channel: 70% (63 Watts)
  • White channel: 40% (21.6 Watts)

I have considered bringing the white channel down a bit or maybe replacing some of the 14,000K LED with a few 6,500K ones, but I am not sure.

Corals are healthy and growing great, but the colors do seem lighter than in your tank under the T5 lights. I don't think I have the space to add T5, but was considering replacing the whole light for a T5 one for a few months to see if that made any difference.

Any recommendation you may have will be greatly appreciated.
