Well my 2400gph pump finally came in. My Rio took a poop on me and after a lot of research I decided this was my best bet. I got this brand new from eBay, paid $120 shipped with 3 year warranty. I'm gunna make a mini manifold to feed my reactor and UV sterilizer, that way I can get rid of all the pumps in my sump.
Also yesterday I was researching how to get a PVC connection to fit on these pumps, because they come with this goofy snap fitting. (this was the crappy DIY part that probably kept alot of people from buying these pump) Come to find out Laguna makes a connection that goes from snap connection to 1.5" PVC threaded. Pretty cool cuz theres no need for a union, just pops off when you want to remove the pump. Found a local koi pond store that had the part in stock, paid $5. Now this project just got a lot easier. The only bummer is there is no stand for the pump, but Tom@socal tropical fish is working on building a stand. I'm prolly gunna try to build the manifold today so I'll post pics of that when it's all finished. So 2400gph @ 100w, sounds good to me! Between my LEDs,this pump, AND getting rid of my chiller..my tank just got a lot cheaper to run every month.
