nice, thats the same skimmer i have been looking for my 30 gallon, i want to upgrade from my remora since its getting asump.
you wont have room for a fuge tho, but i would rather have a decent return area as well.

I don't think a fuge would benefit the tank in this scenario, especially with the over sized skimmer. If I do decide to add one at a later time, I could always egg crate off the front section, so the water volume of the return section wouldn't be effected.

Nice sump design.
Would still go for a refugium at least for all the bugs that can grow there and make their way back to the tank. I like the idea of having it share the water volume at least you get more water in there in case your ATO fails for some reason.

i would agree that a refugium isnt entirely neccesary on an LPS dominant tank, but in the event of an algae outbreak its nice to have that 4" x 16" space in the sump that can quikly be turned into a refugium or a spot to hold chemical media. with a big skimmer in the works then it probably wont ever be needed.

i swear you two change plans like the wind! i wish i had yalls enthusiasm in tank set up! im totally bored with my tank and roll my eyes every night as i add my suppliments! :lol:

i must say though, if i had your stock list laura, it might help raise my spirits a bit!

Wow. It has been a while since I've updated the thread, so here goes.

TJ and I will be picking up the skimmer tonight. I'm not exactly sure when Keith will be done with my sump and whatnot, but I hope to get this tank drilled and get everything situated in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Beeeecause...I have a good amount of coral coming in very soon yayayayayaya :

3 different types of acans
2 different types of palys
2 cleaner shrimp
2 clown gobies

I figure since my corals are thriving (all the acans have numerous babies sprouting!)and my levels have been solid, I can start adding a little more.

Sounds great Laura, cant wait to see the new pics. I'm sure you'll find a good spot to put you're new corals in that awsome tank of yours. Heck you may be able to even offer TJ a short term lease on some tank real-estate to temporarily house some of his ever growing collection...lol

TJ owes me a frag of every kind of acan he has, considering I'm the one that got him interested in them. lol

.....Let's just hope I get my corals without any polyps magically fragged off of them, since my orders are being shipped to his house haha.

On a plus note Laura, I finally finished my rock work this week on the right side of my 220 and I have 9 new fish arriving tomorrow!!!

TJ hasn't had a whole lot to do with this tank outside of the initial construction/fill. I'm just that voice in the background continually being ignored. :rolleye1:
