Ok, thanks for the advice. Any other tangs that could fit in my tank without spending over 300$?

Can length be substituted for total area of open obstacle-free swimming? I kinda designed my aquascape to have open area for swimming in front and behind! It kinda reminds me of a nascar track

I'm not saying I will put another tang in, in case you are wondering. If it isn't enough space then I would definitely not get another one.

Mine was eating NLS pellets at a LFS. Since then, he eats just about anything. As far as tank size goes, LA recommends 125G to be the minimum size and that's what mine is in.

Does he swim the length of your tank back and forth constantly? I really love the look of them. I really hate how my LFS sells so many of them, I am not saying it can't be done, but I don't know how they could sell so many as there is not a big amount of people with tanks here. Has anyone ever calculated a percentage of death in people's tanks with these fish? Yours looks amazing sc50964!

My tank is a bit of a mess right now, I am trying to get rid of the algae on the sand and my cap coral keeps falling so I don't know where to put it :hmm5:

My yellow tang has started moving around again, he actually seems to be using the oval but he used to just pace the front. Any advice?

No, if you look at the beginning of the thread you will see that part of the reason I want a large, active centerpiece fish is because my tang didn't seem to be moving around just kinda sticking around the same place picking at the rocks in the same place. He just started swimming the oval in the tank again!
Go with a blue throat or red tail trigger. Triggers are incredibly entertaining fish. They are active and curious fish. They are generally safe with coral, but not inverts. Divers den has one of each right now. I have two triggers (picasso and Niger) in my 220 and they are by far the show stealers. Mine are now 12 and 7 years old. The only issue I have with them is that they pick up gravel now and then and spit it on my corals. Totally worth it though.

I do really like triggers, but I would be a little mad if he started chomping my snails and my cleaner shrimp 
If you had to pick between the two which one would you say is less likely to chomp inverts?

Inverts are not safe with triggers. You may hear some stories about they are, but they really aren't in general. As to your YT, if he swims in an erratic fashion then you may need to be concerned. It's hard to give further comment without seeing what it's doing.

It's not erratic, he was just starting to be a bit lazy in the past 2 weeks and he has started swimming around again, I believe it was because of my male square anthias being a bit of a bully, and he has started to chill out I think and my flame angelfish and yellow tang have started to be more active again, it isn't a problem.
