I see you have a similar Xenia issue as i do. Do you let it just win/lose too? So far i've seen it lose in a match-up vs GSP but not much else.

Love your reef, would like to see more photos.

Xenia I have to rip up. I'll take a picture of that even though it's embarrassing.

I let some things go.

LEDZeal Malibu S with custom colors and optics. Each bank of diodes consists of 24 with 8 royal blue, 4 blue, 4 violet, 4 6000k, 2 10,000k, 1 red, 1 green. Blues and violet use 90* and whites/colors use 120* optics. They're separated into 4 channels. Blues 100% whites 40%

nice video. what are you giving the tangs to nip at, seaweed? i have large blond naso, small blue hippo and a medium yellow tang who all love packaged seaweed. curious what else to give them.

I've fed all kinds of greens- spinach, kale, nori. They also eat shrimp (jumbo even). Watch my YouTube channel vids and you'll find one about vegetarian frenzy.

Also- as promised - my shameful Xenia elimination ... I put them in a mesh clip until I can transplant them elsewhere.

TangingOut - Pretty cool set up I thought it might be LED's based on the colors but was not sure.

karimwassef - I had some of that at one point too. I later grouped it under my invasive species grouping along with blue star polyps, and gps...lol. Also thanks for sharing the link to your tank. I caught up on your thread today. Are the mushrooms or chalice winning?

mushrooms just grow faster, but chalice has the advantage of growing up and over... so, the chalice wins by avoiding the mushrooms. In a polyp to polyp match-up, the mushroom would always win.

Notice that the poor acropora between the two had no chance.

Be it known that the above mentioned Hollywood Stunner chalice does grow much faster than typical chalices do and also have a propensity to form a plating/spiraling growth pattern much like a montipora capricornis. Other chalices I've owned tend to just melt across the rocks, though not actually encrusting, just growing over. My Miami Hurricane chalice is about 6" across and covers a large portion of rock with jagged texture. It appears to be encrusted on the rock but I can pick it up off the rock like a cap. Its not attatched to it in any place. Just a dab of glue on the underside holds it down so the urchins dont pick it up.

It is shocking how something so paper thin can send out 5-6" sweepers where the heck does all that tissue even come from.

Bpb - Very interesting. That's pretty cool it's not attached...sorta like a top hat...lol. Pretty cool eyes on it. Do you have it under regular lighting by any chance? Is it a green flesh chalice besides the eyes?

That is regular lighting. Some days I can't seem to get my phone to white balance correctly despite my best efforts but I do run very Blue heavy t5ho. I DO have a picture of it under my previous bulb combo which was a lot whiter I can dig up. It was smaller though.

I don't use LEDs. That's my daylight channel on my ati sunpower. Id have to take it out of the canopy and actually drop in more white bulbs just for a picture lol. I'll just have to do my best with adobe Lightroom instead

I can actually get a better white balance on it normally. The tank doesn't look that blue IRL. Can't find my amber blue block lens at the moment. No big deal. Just got two new chalices I'm absolutely in love with but don't fit the "colony size" rule of this thread so I won't post them yet. Maybe in a couple years when they double in size ha ha

Bpb - So is the flesh like a teal IRL? Looks pretty cool. What type of flow is it getting?

I just recently changed over my frag tank lighting to T5 trying to get some corals growing before my tank is built. I am going to try a six bulb set up and see what kinda growth I can get over the next few months. If you want shot me a Pm with pictures.
