large green worm!

Ive just been looking in my tank with lights off and spotted a large irridescent green worm
moving across the sand; it shot back into its hole leaving a mucus trail behind it, its about 8 inches long and doeant appear to have bristles.....anyone any ideas.will try to get apic

Did it have tentacles on its head? It sounds like a eunice worm to me.
