Large leather, chemical warfare?

I have a really large leather (about 12" wide or so), and I've noticed some of the corals near it seem to be suffering. Some palythoa polyps are receding since I've put them near the leather, and a purple tonga shroom has lost all it's color. I'm afraid to put anything else near it until I find out what's going on. I really like it's large presence over in the corner of the tank, but maybe I should frag it up to make it smaller?

Here's a pic, you can see the palythoa underneath it, the shroom can't be seen but it was on the right shaded under it.

Yes, there could be chemical warfare going on. In reality, though, it will happen all over the tank. It's best to keep tanks to a few species groups... which no one does. Heavy skimming and frequent water changes will help dilute chemical warfare.

Gorgeous leather. If this continues, you might need to make a choice. :(
