large prints

Do any of you out there print large poster size prints? I just purchased a D80 and wanted to print some larger prints. I was thinking 20 x30 or larger. Does anyone have any online print shops to recommend, I know costco does 20x 30's for 9.99.

Costco is usually only good for 8x11 and I would do some test prints before you do something along the line of 20x30.

I print the majority of my pics using White House Custom Colors (www.whcc.com). The cost is 2x that of Costco for a picture of that size, but I rather print it once and not worry about the quality. I've printed as large as 3'x4' using them and the quality is stellar.

I do large prints pm me if interested 9.99 is a very cheap price but I am sure that the quality is cheap too :)

I can print 44" by 100 feet I do not resample the images but if you want color enhancements I am a photoshop expert. I have been making my living with photoshop since version 2.5. There are ways to dim images for enlargements without resampling. As for camera I use it is a Luminux (sp) which suuuuucks. My forte is to make photographers images look there best. I wish I was a photographer but maybe next life. But I can make them shine. I have clients like Infinity, Mercedes, etc etc

wow, I will have to ask for some advice, I just got a copy of PS and would like to start making large prints. Do you suggest shooting in RAW if I am going to blow the pics up.

I was thinking about this site, they're having a special...
elcocolor.com/hot_internet_only_specials.htm

would a 60x30 print be out of the question for a 10.2 mp cam, obviously would be perfect up close but from 6' or so could it look "sharp" enough?

Wow, what a sales pitch.

Costco is not cheap quality. Thier printing is very good and they use arhival ink and paper. I do nature macro photography which sells in a gallery and I use Costco for all my 8x10 and 11x14 prints.

It's really dependent on the Costco in question and each will vary; hence the recommendation to get some test prints done beforehand.

I print larger than those sizes and wouldn't trust mine after seeing some of their larger prints.

Defenitely not a sales pitch.

But the prints there are definetely going to be only and not better then the picture given to them.

There are some amazing photographers on this forum. Lots will have success with Costco prints but some will want extra. I mean really photographers who are into reefing and are willing to only except that quality.

Please do not pm me for prices I am not selling anything. I did give out prices on a pm but have decided it was a bad idea after (wow what a sales pitch comment)

Thank you.

I agree. The prints are going to be as good as the picture given to them to print. I cant ask for more. Most poeple that are serious about photography are already doing our own processing anyways. I know that I dont want any post production done to my ophotos by someone else. I dont think I feel that the photo was truly my work if that were the case.

what part is not true? I'm not saying that other people shouldnt have someone else do post production. Only that i feel like its not 100% mine if someone else does my post production.
