Hi all! So, I'm not quite back to active in the hobby, but my tank has been keeping a steady upward trend. Anyway, I've had this clam for a few years, and frankly... I'm not sure if I can get it out of the tank anymore. It's at least 12" end to end on the shell, probably a couple inches bigger but I haven't measured in a long time. If I can make a deal with someone I'll find a way to get it out while it still fits, so I'm looking to sell or trade it soon.

I'm hoping for $500 or equivalent in colorful anemones. Discounts will will be considered for well-established tanks and/or long term SLASH members. And of course, offers welcome. LED lights, soft corals, and fish may also be of interest.

Bump - $400? Offers?

Any stores that might be able to give this big of a clam a home?

Most of the stores have clients that can afford that big boy. I sold my giant to a store for $200 and their client paid double that I believe. Hard to find the market here on super big stuff with high prices, not to diss you at all. Just out of reach for most financially.

Thank you sir for that advice! And no offense taken whatsoever. I never really intended to end up with such a massive clam myself, and doubt I could afford to buy one this big either, lol.

If I don't hear anything in a few more weeks, I'll see if I can pull it from the display and measure the shell, then set it in the sump and maybe make a visit to the local stores. I'm very certain it's bigger than I think, I just don't want to leave anyone disappointed. [emoji4]

Maybe you could donate it to the pediatric tank and write it off?[emoji106]
Yeah ok, what the hell. This club's always treated me well anyway. Nook - think you could find me somebody with long arms to help me get it out? The placement is far from convenient and I'd like to keep the scutes intact if possible.

Also wouldn't mind hearing if anybody has a good deal on BTA, sebae, or Magnifica (etc.) anemones to help fill in the hole.

Extraordinarily generous!! THANK YOU, BRADLEY!

I’ve got experience working with monster clams. Let me know a day that works for you.

I've got a few. They're on the smaller side, but then again they're a lil crowded.
If you're donating that monster, I'll donate some of them to you.

And Nook, I still need to get that stuff to you. Sorry for dragging my feet.
Are you working tomorrow?

Holy Anemone Tank, Batman!!

Yes Sir! I'm on duty from 0700-1900, then need to get a RBTA from reef slugs unless you want to donate one of yours:lol:

Yessir! This is exactly the kind of thing I would like in my tank. You just tell me what I gotta do. I'll come pick them up, hell I'll pull them out for ya!

Can I see a frontal shot of that tank? It looks awesome.
I always wanted multiple anemones in my tank and mine finally split and now the one stings my sps near it...

Clam is out, tank is remodeled... HUGE THANKS to Tigé21v for all the nems to make my tank feel whole again!!!

The clam made the trip to it's new home safely, and I expect pictures will be up soon. I honestly could never have hoped for this to end so well for everyone involved. Thanks to everyone who got involved in what started as a random FS/FT thread. :)

Those nems look as happy as can be, Brad. I'm sure they're enjoying their extra room. Lol
Where'd the carpet settle in?

The carpet is getting some extra special treatment because I want to make doubly sure I take good care of him.

Right now he's in the sump under a separate light so I can control the intensity. Once I fully acclimate him to my lighting, I have a 4" PVC pipe that I'm going to fill with sand and set him in it.

It may be a little hard to imagine, but it's going to be great for him, and look good too!
