large tank filtration questions

does ne1 know of any pros and cons for using outdoor pond equipment for your large tanks?
there is a canister filter for a pond i'm looking at that has a built in uv
how abut using a swimming pool filter and/or pump in the basement
along with the sump and prop tank?

alot of those items arent able to handle the salt water.

Nothing wrong with being creative! Make sure you really want a canister filter before you invest the money.
