LARGE Tank Move

Hello!

New to the hobby here...

Question
I found a 265 gallon aquarium on craigslist that I had hoped to buy.

The seller told me that he removed all the inner seals when he dismantled and moved his DT.

He stressed to me that this practice is the norm and to not fill a large tank (over 150 gallons) unless the seals have been removed, or I place the tank, remove the seals and reseal in its final location.

Any thoughts on this?

I've googled my eyeballs off online and don't see any references to such a practice.

THANKS!

IMHO, the dude is an idiot. I wouldn't touch that tank unless you plan on taking all the panels apart and starting from scratch, and then he'd have to pay me to haul it away.

IMHO, that dude IS an idiot... Him AND his tank of seals.
I've already forgotten him... wait, what were we talking about again?
