Last meeting feedbacK on Free coral food sample?

For those at the last BAR (Oct) meeting who received the free sample of coral food, the company is looking for feedback. Feel free to post any here.

Are there any instructions on the coral food? It does not seem to dissolve very well so even after soaking for a while, most if it still floats so doesnt get in the water column and reach the corals. SO the corals definatly dont seem to respond to it.

There was a small leaflet next to the food, did you get one of those?

no, didnt see the leaflet. But I think there is a website printed on the vial, I'll try that.

nothing yet. i dump it in my sump and let the return mix it up.

Seems pretty yicky to me. Who knows whats actually in it, and what they have listed in it is dessicated. Me likey RN stuff better.

If you sprinkle it on water you get it all sucked down into the sump via overflows, if you get a pinch on your fingers and jam your fingers into the tank before letting go, it stays in the tank.

However all that being said didn't notice any polyp extension any more than I normally have or anything to give me an indication my corals "liked" it.

I tried using it 5 times in a controled tank and there was not much in the way of active feeding. Got more response with my "Phyto-Snow-Live Rotifer-BBS-Selco" mix then that pepper smelling stuff. I had a thought though, maybe sprinkle some on Katsudon next time you eat that dish it might give you the kick you are lookng for! Just kidding ........ or am I??
