Latezonatus has ovipositor out...

Get this clownfish fanatics! I just received a "pair" of Latz clowns from Karen B. in Hawaii today. She graciously sent me a pair from her first generation that are around 3.5 years old. When I opened the box, I was elated to say the least. These fish are beautiful and large, probably close to 4-5" long. Anyways, one of the fish seemed to be really plump and a few hours ago, I noticed something coming out of her underside. At first, I thought it was poop and paid no attention to it. A couple hours went by and it looked the same. I assumed it was constipated but after looking closer, I'm 99% sure it is the ovipositor. Now, let me tell you why this is strange. Karen had told me that she had both of these clowns in a 100g and they formed a bond. Here's the kicker, she said they both lay eggs!! WOW, so I have a pair of females who have bonded and one is about to lay eggs! How cool is that? The only sad part is that for obvious reasons, the eggs will never be fertile. Oh well, I suppose my Swissguard basslet pair will be enjoying dinner soon enough.

One day I will have a pair of these beauties in my tank. Can I say even fish have same sex marriage so why are humans fussing over it???? Lol

Sure, I'll see if I can take some pics later today. Btw, it was definitely her ovipositor as Karen B. verified it. I didn't see any eggs though and now she's back to normal.

Sorry I'm late. Here are a few more crappy pics. I really need to find my Canon memory card. These iPhone pics just aren't cutting it.

Please excuse all the blue. I just hooked up my Kessils and realized that LED pics are on the blue side. Man, I just need to go back to mh again.

Yeah, they're a bit skittish at first but eventually settle in nicely. I swear I thought they were dying when I acclimated them and put them in my tank. Both were on the bottom laying down sideways for hours. I contacted Karen (the breeder) and she put my mind at ease and said that's their normal behavior when they switch tanks. At least it was normal for these females.
