launchnukes' small one. 75g custom rimless semi-cube sps build

I put the rock structure in the tank for the first time to see how it would fit. Please excuse the mess in the garage.

Awesome job. This looks great and the same dimensions I want for the tank I want to build. Will definitely be following closely. Good luck.

thanks lotus.

tons of stuff coming in the mail. it's like Christmas every day I come home from work. lol. got the color sample to the woodworker stand should be done this week. i'm on the final stretch now.

Nice job with the rock work. Who did your tank? Someone local? I couldn't find anyone local when I did mine.

Thanks. yeah, found a guy in Melbourne. He does good work and I didn't have to wait 6 months like some tank builders I know of ;) lol. shoot me a pm if you want his info.

Love the rock work, how much sand are you gonna use.

Thanks Brett. I got 40 lbs of Carib-Sea Arag Alive live reef sand. I like the grain size and look of this sand and it doesn't blow around like sugar. I'm wondering if I should have got 50-60 lbs but i'm going to see how the 40 fills up the tank and go from there. I only want a 1" or so sand bed

Great build, I really like your aqua scape. Tank is a good size and dimensions too.

Just one thing, you mentioned you were using 1/2" glass and you've ordered an MP10? I think that might be too thick for the MP10? I have an MP10 on 10mm glass and very occasionally it will fall off. Just a heads up!

From their website:

Specifications
The MP10 is intended for smaller tanks or to supplement flow in larger systems spanning up to 3/8 of an inch of glass and rated at 1,575 gallons of flow per hour, the MP10 is small but powerful.

Looking forward to following to build.....

thanks for the heads up. I've heard of quite a few people that were lucky and the pump worked with 1/2" glass and a ton that it didn't...this was after I got the pump. lol. I've had the mp10 on there and running (with just water to test it out) for almost a week and it hasn't fallen off yet. fingers crossed. I do plan on getting another vortech and I will most likely get an mp40 for the extra security & additional flow

i may have missed it while reading but what type of rock is it that you have? is just mixed pieces? i really like the rock work though, couldn't have made a better setup for a cube like that!

sweet setup! I can't wait to see this thing stocked :) I was running the maxspect razor 27" 16k for quite some time on my 40r 36" x 15" x 17". I loved the light; however, the dimensions made the sides a bit dimmed. Because your rocking a bigger light for the dimensions you have, I think the light will work amazzaaazzing. I was growing sps and coloring them up with the unit, but just didn't like the overall dark look because of my dimensions. Good job with what you have done so far. Definitely a TOTM in the works!

Thanks for the comments guys, i'm excited to get going again.

I saved a hundred of so pounds of my best pieces from my 300/500 tear down. Some marco, some Fiji, tonga, etc.

really nice!
the stand is fantastic and goes really nicely as a compliment to the the fireplace.
can't wait to see this baby stocked.
nice and simple.. even the rockwork.
i like it!!

I love the manifold off the side of your return line with ball valves for your carbon and GFO reactor. This is a nice touch. One less pump taking up space and throwing off heat in your sump.

Looks great so far!

And I really like the stand (it looks a lot like mine in many ways)
