Lavender Hairy Mushroom Turning White & Not Fully Opened

I have had several hairy mushrooms in my tank for over a year. They have split and all continued to do great. They are very purple, hairy, and HUGE...

...Until about 4 days ago.

Now they are basically deflated and are turning whiteish green.

All other soft corals, LPS, and montis are doing just fine and no other corals are showing health issues.

I don't want to lose them, as they are one of my favorites, so what kind of action should I take? I have turned my LEDs down to 75% intensity during the peak time of the day. Also, previously I was carbon dosing via vinegar and thought that maybe my water was too "clean" so I discontinued that when I noticed that the hairy mushrooms weren't doing well.

Again, every other coral in the tank is fine as well as all of the fish.

Alkalinity is at approximately 3.34 meq/l.

I don't have any iodine on hand, but I've read a *little* about people iodine dipping them under extreme circumstances.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

These are all still alive, but bright white with a hint of green. Also, one just split into two, that previously split about a month ago.

Thoughts?

I am starting to think it has something to do with the full moon tonight. My pink ricordea yuma's are all of a sudden doing the same thing as your mushrooms. They were fine and now they are all shriveled up and so little with big feet. All my other corals are fine, just them. Parameters have not changed.

i wish i have your issues as my hairy mushrooms are becoming pests in my tank and i just want to be able to torch them. i cant just remove them because they grow on large rocks that my nems attached to....... :worried:

I had them under Maxspect Razor Leds for about 3 months and they were fine up until about a week before I switched back to T5s. However, the damage had been done before the T5 switch.

I have those exact mushrooms and they are doing the same thing. I have changed lights a lot recently, they were doing well before.

However, I have ricordeas as well and they are all doing fine. So the light change is probably the reason.

Figure this one out...

Just got a bunch of stuff from a fellow local reefer with an established tank under t5 lights...

Put a huge rock covered in green hairy mushrooms & lavender hairy mushrooms. They have been in the tank for a few hours and the green are all fully opened but the lavender are not at all....

I AM TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY CONFUSED. Is my tank racist against lavender mushrooms or something? EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING besides those stinkers are doing A.O.K...
