Lawnmower Blenny Alternative...?

Ive recently added some live rock to my system, and it has green-macro- like algaes (not hair algae) growin on it. Ive used lawnmower blennys in the past for algae problems with success. I do adore thier puppy-like personalities and they are fun too watch, but my boyfriend likes the more "colorful" blennys/gobies.. but because my tank is only 55 gallons, I would like to only add one. I wanted to see if thier were any alternatives that would work on the algae just as well?

Maybe a bicolor? Mine used to munch on algae more than my lawnmower blenny did!

My Bicolor blenny is awsome he eats algea, but not byropsis ;)

He is even more of a toolbag then a lawnmower.

See if you can talk him into a Starry Blenny. They are dark black with white thousands of tiny white speckles. They are really cool looking fish.

I've never had a blenny that didn't eat algae. I currently have a tail spot, blue and gold, and starry that all clean their respective tanks very well. They clean up algae better than my snails. Of course they all pig out at feeding time too and the starry blenny will eat nori off the clip.

Thanks for your input guys!!

We have decided on the bicolor blenny, we picked one up today at the LFS and he is doing great. He is already feeding on the mysis, and ive noticed him nibbling on the rocks already......

I've been tagging along with this thread to check out what sorts of blennies and similar "personality fish" folks have had good luck with. Anybody keep any of theirs with open top tanks - e.g., are all of these particular risks for jumping?
