Lawnmower Blenny

Hey guys little advise on what to feed a Lawnmower Blenny. I would like to buy one & search is not working:rolleye1: as usual. Are they difficult to keep happy?

I have a lawnmower blenny. Neat little guy. I would highly recommend one. Mine doesnt like prepared foods as well. He likes the glass and live rock. I would suggest though that if you get one becareful not to starve it. Also watch for them jumping. When I clean the tank, mine tends to jump when scared. A common occurrence apparently. Good luck. a while back i went to my lfs looking for a lawnmower blenny and the one guy there that knows anything about fish sold me on a starry blenny...Same thing as a LMB basically, just brownish with little blue spots all over it... he's been munching away at my hair algae ever since i got him and he eats anything i throw in the tank for the other fish....
 
I have the biggest lawnmower blennie in captivity. I don't know that to be a fact but he is freakin' huge. I got him from a friend who was downsizing and he scraped every bit of algae from every possible nook and cranny of my tank. I have seen him eat mysis and brine. I have not tried nori yet but I have seen him go nuts on calurpa from my refugium.

just curious, exactly how big is that?

I'm with him... that is a big blenny - are you feeding him raw bisquits or something?
 
he is freakin' huge I am telling you. I have only had him a few weeks. Everyone says oh my God when they see him. he is like leviathan
 
Mine- named "JEWEL" eats everything- algae on the glass and everything I feed the fish- live brine and prepared foods. Very easy-going character fish!
 
mine never ate any prepared food except for algae sheets. He wouldn't even touch spirulina formula from Ocean nutrition. Kept the tank nice and clean though so he was fed ;)
 
Mine ate up all the hair algae and then refused anything else. He wouldn't even eat algae sheets attached to rock. Unfortunately he starved ad died.
 
LMB have great personalities. But mine just looks at prepared food clueless. He eats only the algaearound in the tank. Luckily there is plenty of that in my tank to keep him happy ;)
 
I've had a LMB for about a month, and I have never seen him eat anything prepared. Actually, I never see him during feeding time. He eats the algae of my glass and leaves "kiss" marks all over my tank. It definetly has an amazing personality. A good fish to have, just make sure you have enough algae to support one.
 
do you guys think, the LMB can live inside a nano tank?? 6gal and 12gal nano cubes??

jpslickorocks: you got a picture of that huge monster?
