It certainly does loOk like it's trying to change to match the surroundings, are the rocks in the tank pretty purple or red?

I often find clear little things in the tank that I'm guessing are the cuticles. I always just thought they were my other Scorp, but I guess it could be from the Leaf as well. My Leaf is yellow, but every once in awhile he will show some red color.

Here is a little comparison

I'll try to get a better picture of the red next time I see it.

Hmmm, I didn't realize they change from yellow to reddish. Cool though. Only two fish in the tank are leafs, so it has to be a cuticle, besides it kinda holds its shape around the top fin.

Mine looked just like your first pic about a hour after I posted. Do you have any red in your tank?

Sorry jarrod I forgot to answer you earlier. I have one rock that is covered in coraline but theothers aren't

Cool Leaf's guys....Makes me want one....I have several 29's sitting around not being used.....(goes off to ponder)......I would love to find a blue one.

Very cool pictures and thanks for the info!

AlexS95, you have a leaf fish with an angler fish? How long have they been together? Any problems? I have a wartskin anglerfish and wanted to add a leaf fish but was hesitant... There is a cool light yellow one that has been at a LFS for somewhere around 6 months that I have been drooling over.

alex, I think you don't have problems now because the size difference is still reasonable, but if that is a pictus it will eventually get large enough to eat the leaf, JMO

Good point jarrod. Reading alexs post on no problems got me thinking, but then the angler eats all thought returned.

I got my red one!!!! Out to the lfs tonight looking around and there it was. It is a dark red and eating ghosties already. Pics to follow from the lfs as I need to get my QT back up.

Here it is...
