leak...eak!

Ok. So I can't find a wick leaking water from my tank. I suppose this means I have a crack in the base. What would cause this in a 5.5 gallon? Any ideas?

If I do have a leak is it ok to put everything, rocks, corals, maiden hair algea, clarkii, BTA into a 5 gallon bucket with the heater? I believe the filter on the 10 gallon hex will hang off the side.

It's already past midnight, Any input?

It is doubtful it cracked, you may have had water just come over lid somehow.

I've set up a wick into a bucket for the rest of the night. Maybe as you say, there was just too much of my arm inside that tank. One can hope...

well, it seems it was my arm. There have been no more puddles at the base and it seems to have gotten dried up.

I still find it hard to believe that my arm could raise the level 1/2 inch but it must have.

I was trying to reposition my kenya tree coral which seems to be the target of chemical warfare and has gone gray and pinched. That is another story.

Just a bit of an update on my warfare...The Kenya tree coral opened up three days later in the new location with the deepest color I've ever seen, and larger...It was beautiful. Wish I could take decent photos.

if you run a search on here.. you will find people with pics of their 100+ gal tanks empty over night. and have seen pics of whole sides of tanks with glass missing/broken.... makes you wonder.....can it happen to me??

For a while I wondered where I was gettign a tiny leak on my 5.5g. It ended up being the powercord to my powerhead. it was one of those split cords with the "channel" down the center. Enough salt creeped up the channel that it would wick water up & over the top & down the cord.

It is an amazing thing, though not funny, my sister put her foot through an aquarium doing excersizes. I was right there and saw the whole thing. I would not want it to happen at night. At least we could save the fish.
