Learning/rebuilding from my epic fail

Walt Disney doesn't look that special in a white spectrum light.
Like my tank which is 10,000 kelvin - it would look very ordinary indeed.

Agreed! However, like all of these tenuis pieces, they gain in colour and beauty as they grow.. we shall see...it should at least get some pink highlights..

Great pictures Matt! What hockey team are you trying out for. Jk. How do you keep deep water acros alive? My ice fires always do well and then rtn.

Thanks!
Girls peewee AA and AAA.. I have long felt that i had it in me and now is my chance! :)

I can't tell you what is working for my Ice Fire- i really don't know! but it is working. Although still small, it has doubled in size and fought off encrusting from a rival coral which I have since scraped away..

Thanks!

It gets a good, wide 60 second 'blast' every other minute. It is on the other side of a gyre which pushes every 60 seconds for 60 seconds. By the time the water gets across the tank, it is a good moving wall of water.
It is also placed in the lower third of the tank.

Hey Flo, thanks! These images are posted with postimage .org. Very simple to use. But like most of these sites, its future is unknown.
GAAAWWWJJUUUUSSS :inlove: :inlove: gonna have to print of some pics and threaten my acro's with them!
Hey Dom, thanks! No need to threaten your acros.. they are just about to make you very happy, trust me!
Stunning pictures Matt. This one is my favourite:

Hey Bulent, thanks! I am fairly sure that this coral is a red planet.. not 100%

So, I took a lot of shots of the top centre of my tank which holds lots of sexy corals: orange passion, blueberry wine, pink lemonade, red Diablo (I think- called it the bruise but now it's getting quite red) amongst others..
So keeping with the trend, I'll go from close to wider..
Couple of op and pl:

And all four:

Little further back..

I am feeling super jealous now Matt.
In true Canadian fashion, I apologize, Bulent!
Hey Matt, I love the pink looking coral also. It looks really similar to this acro that my LFS has called a "princess peach". Corallites might look different but color looks really the same.Take a look at their second image of it. http://topshelfaquatics.com/product/coral-sps-9/

In terms of colour, definitely looks very similar to the one Bulent mentioned- the supposed red planet.. structure is different as your mentioned..
But that colour combo- red polyps and corralites on green background is fairly common, imo..
That piece can also be seen middle right in this shot:

A little wider..

Here's my last top down. Also in the middle but lower down..

Some fts shots to follow..

i think i just came....

man your colors... don´t wanna look in here anymore....

just kidding, can't without ^^

keep those sexy pictures coming!!

Cheers

But I also like this angle..

Phooaaarrr :inlove: talk about being packed to the rafters though  looks absolutely sublime Matt :)
Oh yeah! Packed to the rafters, for sure. Tough to find space for new corals but I think I'm about the remove my ssc colonies.. I'm getting bored of them and I need space!!!
Very nice Matt.....the reef is looking pretty good!!!!

What about those anthias? What can you tell me about it?
I've been thinking about get some to put with my 2 lyretails....

Hey Alex, thanks!

Evansi anthias are not easy to acclimate. I started out with about 18. They were very picky eaters at first. They would only eat very small shrimp type foods like calanus and baby brine.. most of them starved. About 8 began to eat mysis and spirulina brine and did very well. Over the past years or two, a couple more have just died. These remaining 5 are pretty healthy and as long as they get at least two feedings a day, they are great. I can now feed them pellets and flakes which they eat no problem..
They are extremely tolerant of other anthias as well.
I'm not sure I would recommend them unless you have every type of 'live replacement' type food, a great nutrient export system and patience. But once/of you get past the difficult part, they become quite hearty.
