Least bold angel to add.

I would say a little less common in our state, both of mine were special requests to be brought in. Goldflakes are nice and on my list of additions but only a certain varient is what I am looking for.

Why is that? Better survival rate? Or a flagfin goldflake hybrid? ;)
Whats the best size for a goldflake? I have heard medium is best around 4 inches.

A hybrid is one I would consider for sure :)

Goldflakes have a rocky history in the hobby. There are numerous people who have had them thrive for over a year and then go down hill and die within a week or two. I would go for a 3-4" one personally. A little smaller would not scare me off but I would likely not go any larger. There is a recent thread out here about people's histories with goldflakes, a good read if you have not for sure.

Thanks, I will check it out. Maybe another angel i am thinking. Hmm If i was to pick i would go with a blue spotted or the likes. Conspic but i dunno if i can let the price attract me to one.

Well got my angel in today, He is just about ready to go in QT tank from acclimation. I got me a nice sized one. Pics will come in a little.

Heres a couple bad pics.

He's kinda an odd duck. He was very angry when i took him out of the acclimation buckett. He wants the bicolor thats in there with him to clean him.
LOL He hates the allens damsels in there. I am keeping dither fish in with him to show him how take the foods i feed. The dithers have been qt for awhile ans was ready for release, But i thought they would benefit him being in there.

Very nice.

Do you have a female to go with him? Scribbled are very personable once they settle in as well, will be an awesome fish!

No, I was thinking on one. Someone told me not to get a seperate female that the male will likely kill her. To only get diver picked pairs. I may add one later, I am debating on it. Did you add yours seperately?
This guys about 8.5 inches. He stares me down. I'll wait to feed him untill tomorrow. He's looking around, But i dont think he will eat good this early.
Its funny watching him flutter near the bicolor angel. Thats probably the only reason he does not chase him round. He does keep the damsels away from the bicolor.

I did get my seperate, they are not together yet though either. The female is just finishing up QT now, only had her for about 2 months now, maybe a little longer.

I will be working on pairing them in roughly a month. The existing one was purchased as a female about 3.5 years ago at around 4.5", is now pushing 6.5-7 and starting to show transitional male color. The new female is much smaller then the current scribbled so I am hoping they will pair but time will tell.

Did you notice odd behavior in QT? Mine is swimming sideways frequently, But is not acting like its dieing. I think he is checking himself out in the reflection. I did catch him nipping at the glass. He is breathing nice and slow and reacts to me.
I should get some pucca shell substrate and add a thin coating so i can rule out the reflection, and let him not have to worry about that big male that keeps following him around. ;) I have a little peace because the bicolor is doing the same thing. I bet its the reflection.

Well i turned off the light, and he stopped doing it. It is the reflection. I hate to have him keep doing this, But if i need to medicate i'll have to stress him out removing the substrate.

Nothing yet, I want him eating first. He is picking at some rubble i placed in there.
I will treat with copper if need be, But will do a prazipro treatment in about 2 weeks.
