leather coral care question

I bought 2 pieces of coral leather frags 2 days ago, and they continue to "sag", looked really tired and saggy this morning. my mushrooms and poyps are fine. I have a 29 g tank, 135 watt MH, 14000K, ammonia is 0, trites are 0, trates are 20ppm (will do water change tonight, but this should not be high enough should it?). high water flow so no problem there. could it be they are still adjusting? any suggestions?

From my experience, leathers like a medium flow, not being blasted by a power head. Also, do they stay like that all day, or do you just notice it in the morning? I wouldn't really worry about it too much at this point. If it goes on for a few more days, I would try moving them to a new spot.

135 watt MH,
just curious here, but they dont make a 135w halide do they? I've never seen one anyways...

as for your leathers, give them time. You just put them in the tank. My fiji yellow took about a week and a half before it really started opening all the way. While i do agree that 20 nitrates really isnt that bad, and probably not bad enough to make them close up, its still a good idea to do your water change to bring them down.

Just give em a few days and they should be fine. Maybe they're just still acclimating to the new light.

oh and all my leathers are in pretty good flow. My seio is shooting right at them, but they're 2-3ft from the seio..but its still pretty good flow. And some leathers actually like higher flow anyways.

Mine did the same thing for a few weeks. Give it some time before you go moving it all around maybe.
