Leather coral

Hi. My main mushroom leather is not looking to good. It did a shed about a week ago and hasn't really recovered yet. The polyps don't extend like they used to. I have changed the lights am now running led lights at 50 percent to aclimate the tank. Everything else seems to be reacting really well. I do see some polyps occasionally thtouout the day. As it's my biggest coral and has centre stage I'm hoping it goes back to how it was before. Any tips?

The best tip: WAIT!

I believe it's a toadstool leather not a mushroom leather (not sure there is such a thing... but it's just a name. Leathers are notorious for being slow to change or react. I've seen leather not polyp out for a month. Just wait, it will be fine.

yep.. toadstool is one name..
More specifically I think "umbrella leather" is better..
Toadstools are smaller IMO..
I've got an umbrella thats a good 16" across now and just sprouted a new baby off the site a few months back..

But yes.. even live aquaria lists "mushroom coral" in their names for it for some reason..

Sarcophyton Coral is "proper" I guess..

I am super new, but I have experience with my toadstool not being happy anfd being worried. I agree with posts about giving it time. I moved mine every few days if it didn't look happy until I took the advice I got here and after a week or so it was gorgeous...let it get acclimated and happy and be patient

Agree with ron give its some time as long as parameters are fine it will come out when ready , ive had a leather not open up 6 weeks after a tank move , they are the kardashians of the reef work very sensitive
