I purchased a small leather coral frag last week. Was looking very good a couple days later. I have been out of town for 4 days come home and all that is left is the frag plug. Livestock = 1ea flame angel, coral beauty, sailfin tang, hippo tang, fox face, orchid dottyback, watchman goby, powder brown tang and 2 clownfish. Who done it?

Are you sure it didn't detach on it's own and it's just hidden among the rocks somewhere? I don't think any of your fish are suspect, but perhaps you have some sort of unwanted crab lurking among the rocks. These have been known to munch on various corals at times.

Leathers are very difficult to get to attach to a frag plug or a rock. They are slimy when first cut and they take a long time to heal and attach to a plug. I have one that I'm trying for thr 3rd time to get attached. Last time it was on a rock with a nice hole for it's foot and after 2 weeks, it still floated off!

I have looked, but will continue to. My watchmans cave is nearby and he likes to grab stuff and drag it in there. Maybe he grabbed the leather if it became detached.

If you have an extra power head lying around you might want to use this to blast the rocks a little. This might dislodge the coral if it's in there. GL.
