leather growth

i,ve noticed my leathers growth patterns seams to have changed from when they were bought. they have lost some height and instead have become very bushy. lots of growth, but out rather than up. the tank is a 75 with 6x54 t-5s. they are on the bottom of the tank, but maybe more light than they need?

not too much light at all. Leathers do well under t5 lighting (at least mine do) and in my tank growth patterns have more to do with flow than anything else.

From what I have seen this is pretty normal. In the LFS they are usually reaching for light. Growth is a healthy sign, and different leathers will give you different results.

Yes, the coral is just adapting it's growth to suite your tank best.
