LED - Everything you want to know

OK, my bad. Had no idea an honest question would lead to being labelled a hijacker, but whatever.

Sorry to anger you. You can end your tirade now...

Back from being away for awhile :)

Good to see some nice pictures of some peoples LED setups.

Hoping that a few of the manufacturers who mentioned big updates or releases for new year will have some information to share with us! or at least let us know what they have planned !

Thanks

anyone using a led solution on a mainly sps only setup?

If so any chance of some pictures, especially if you have depth over 24"

thanks

I don't have a SPS-only setup but I do have a few acros that are doing really well under my H4 PFO LED unit.

They are both about 14" deep.

I have 3 clams on the bottom (30") that are doing very well...........

LED technology for the reef application is already here, just not available to the general public as of yet. What I see as the biggest detractor is the cost right now. Here is some LED stuff!!!

Osram Diamond Dragon LED emits 250 lumens @ 1.4A and SSC P4 LED emits 240 lumens @ 1A

LED Colors â€"œ 380nm to 700nm

Custom LED Viewing Angles - 12º to 15º Narrow Angle, 20º to 30º Standard Angle, 45º to 50º Medium Angle and 120º to 125º Wide Angle

Custom (High Brightness) LED lenses for - Cree, Philips, Nichia, Osram and Seoul Semiconductor

LED's have some ways to go before people start swapping out halides for them though, even people who like bluer lights.

Yes, I have 12", 18", and 24" graphs. Im going to post it all in a seperate thread with all the details. I just wanted to give a preview.
