You can customize your lighting scheme, they also have the option for red, violet, UV and IR LEDs.. for the 3G fixture with 3w lights you can also choose between 30,60,90* optics or a mixture of the dif optics.
The controler can control 2 dif channels so you can dim the white or blue.
They are working on a 90w cree fixture, might be out in a few weeks.
I wish the 50x3w was not WAY to much lighting for my 25g cube..the whole point of LEDs is to save power lol.. dont need 150w worth of LED light! Otherwise I would go buy that fixture with the controller.. think the light is like $135.
They said they test market the fixtures for ~3 months before going to a distributor agreement.

Question if i purchased 3 of the 100x3w how many controllers would i need.

I believe that you would only need one controller. I thought I read where you can connect up to six of these together.
Has anyone determined if you could control these with an Apex or RKE similar to the AI units?
Gotta tell you, these things are looking better and better. Still trying to decide if I'm going to need three or four of these things on my 180... and what story I'm going to provide to the fiance about why these were "needed".

I think its 1 wire from fixture to fixture so the last one goes to the controller and they are controlled by that.

Yeh that's the deal sealer for me cost comparison.No smart shopping wife is going to say no. They told me the controller wouldn't be available for up to 14 days. My whole package is $380 including shipping for a 100x3w with controller. Can't get that close anywhere else. I will be placing my order as soon as their mid-autumn holiday is over.
Hahahaha! Well... if I had to replace my radiums (pay for one), sell my chiller (Pay for another), and then my reflectors and ballasts (pays for 1.5?) I should be good to go
BTW. Robin just let me know that the dimming function is NOT yet available. Nor is the controller. She indicated that those will likely be available next month. I asked about controlling these units with an Apex or a RKE and she said that they had not tested them with any other tank controllers, but didnt think it would work. I have not idea if it would or wouldnt.

Oh really? Thought the controller was coming out now. They seem to be rolling out a lot of things. Robin said that the industry is moving fast lol. Luckily I am just getting my ro/di and rock tomorrow from brs so I have some time to watch what they have before I need to buy anything. Hoping either they release the 90w cree or the 25x3w with the controller.

Simple: The unit that you see from Eshines are the original manufacturers of the product that maintain certain levels of control. Whoever they had an agreement with is to ensure that resell/rep will receive the manufacturer's promise that things are met to standard.
The other companies that people are getting from basically just took the unit apart and copied it. Its not uncommon for many companies to do that when there aren't really patent protections in Asia. So if the other seller's units break, who knows if they will honor their 3-5-10 year warranties.

By "others" I was referring to other fixtures... not other companies. IE) Why would the 60w fixture get a reseller agreement but the 3g 50x3w would not. The other poster said the company has no plans..This was countered by the eshine rep stating that their plan is to go to a distribution partner for all their fixtures once the market testing is done, which IS common business practice. You make a product, prove there is a market, then get a distributor to sell it for you.

Are you sure those are 3w LEDs? The only 300w fixture I see are 300 x 1 watt LED's...
[EDIT] Nevermind, I found them. I think they are only on their "beta" site. Interestingly I have had an earlier conversation with the manufacturer and they never mentioned these lights. Does anyone know what LED emitters they are using?
Once the AI SOL's are broadly available at $399, no one will be able to sell any of these eShine CREE 60W lights for anything more than $300. To have them priced at $419 is ridiculous.

Yea people are just profiteering off the cree hype.
The other 3G 3w fixtures use bridgelux LEDs, not sure on what type.. honestly do not understand LEDs THAT well.
The sales reps are super helpful when they are online..sometimes they are afk but if they are there they respond and seem to all be very knowledgeable about the product & company plans for future products.

I'm trying to convert from metal halide lighting to either LED or T5 fluorescent. These look promising for LEDs, and I've also heard that Aqua Ray LEDs are very efficient in the lumens/watt ratio.
My San Jose electrician buddy was telling me that T5s are way more efficient than LEDs, and that LEDs have more heat dissipation than T5s; thereby increasing energy costs. So I'm not sure which one I will go with yet, because I also like the spotlight effect of LEDs.

Ok so the Solar Simulator is now available to order $52 for 50x3w and $68 for 100x3w Bridgelux led fixtures. I plan on placing my order before the week is out but I am stuck between the 50 or 100 led unit. Any suggestions on my 24x24x24 cube. Also you get to chose the optics 30, 60 or 90 which one would you all go with?

When I was talking with Robin, she (or he?) said that it depended on what you stock in your tank. I said SPS and was directed towards the 60 degree optics.
