Hey guys! I have been out for almost a year now and might be setting up a 10G in the next few months. Can someone point me in the right direction for some LED lights for a standard 10G? I am looking to mount them in a canopy. I know very little about them and the search function will never work on here. Thanks.

ahh, yeah I recently bought a nanotuners 96 watt cf upgrade for my jbj 12 gallon, but I know that nanotuner's just recently let out their LED
series of hoods. Maybe you could try to get one of these?
Seems very exciting.. kinda makes me wish I waited for these tanks..

here's the email I got. (I don't know if this is allowed or anything, but if not sorry)

It's been a long time coming, but the release is finally here. We are ready to start rolling out the LED retrofits for the nano community. Currently we are releasing the retrofits in two flavors, which are 3x18w LED and 5x18w LED. We've made our best efforts to accomodate all of the various mainstream nano tanks on the market and we're sure that there's something for just about everybody. Current systems that are supported are as follows:

JBJ
Nanocube 6 (3x18 Default/Max)
Nanocube 12 DX (3x18w Default /5x18 Max)
Nanocube 24 DX (5x18 Recommended)
Nanocube 28 HQI (5x18 Recommended)

Oceanic
Biocube 8 (3x18 Max)
Biocube 14 (3x18 Max)
Biocube 29 (5x18 Recommended)

Current-USA
Aquapod 12 - Coming Soon
Aquapod 24 - Coming Soon

Red Sea
Max Systems - Coming Soon

For those ready to make the jump to LEDs now, and we've already had a few, we're offering a limited time promotion for early adopters. The kits will normally retail starting at $349.95 and $449.95 for the 3-strip and 5-strip LED configurations respectively. Until October 1st we're offering a $50.00 promotional discount to any customer looking to purchase one of the retrofit kits or off the price of a pre-built canopy assembly. In exchange for the promotional discount we simply ask for a 1-2 week window to ship your order. This short lead time allows us to procure the LED emitters we need from the manufacturer.

As usual it is also possible to send in your existing canopy and have us perform the retrofit free of charge, however the shipping costs to get the canopy to our door must be paid by the customer. If a completely new canopy is desired with the upgraded lighting the cost will be the price of the LED retrofit in addition to the cost of a new canopy.

Further information can be found on the product pages listed below. Feel free to give us a call or send us an e-mail with any questions you may have!

More details can also be seen in the thread about my personal tank:

Finally, I made a Youtube video of my personal system show PAR number results. Note that in the video I was using 2x daylight and 1x royal blue strip. Currently I am running 3x 50/50 strips.

The one Carlos put together was nice, but at a retail price of about $300-$350, I would think there is something else out there at a better price.

Geez!! I would hope so. If that is the case, I will get a 70W HQI retro kit for $100.
