led lighting

Lights blew out on my big tank. Needed to move it anyway because of a new floor, so just took down and starting over.

Anyways, my question is starting from scratch on lighting and not sure which way I want to go. With all the new technology with led's was wondering if anyone has used led for a large reef, 200+. I like the fact of less heat and using less electricty, but don't know if they have the power to get down 2 and half feet? Anybody have any expeirence trying this and if so what were you keeping with it? thanks for any input.

Or has anyone ran led with a combination of something? My other thought is using led with a couple of MH? Any ideas?

There is a great thread on an Australian forum. They had a group buy on some LED's from Eco-lamps
been following the thread for a few months and nobody I'd unhappy with he lights. Every loves them. I emailed the company 5-6 times with questions and got a reply within hours (remember time difference) very helpful.
These are the lights I will be getting

Thats what I am finding out the more I research. found those eco lamp led's but they are listed for over $2000 bucks and thats only for 4 ft long not 6ft. Still haven't totally left the idea yet though. Thinking of taking my old PC light fixture remove all the old stuff and the putting DIY leds in. Think I can do that for about 750. But the only thing I am not sure of is what I can keep under them. What I am looking at is a panel on ebay, that says it is a replacement for a 250 mh light. And the 750 would give me 5 of these panels. I just don't know if what they are saying is just sales hype or acutally true.

I ordered one for my 6 gallon nano, so I guess I can wait and see how that goes first.
