LED lightning : viparspectra

Thought I posted something here already...

We have 1 on of the 165W lights sitting above our 30gal reef tank. Great light and very affordable.

The timer is easy to program but can be messed up by manually turning on or adjusting the lights. I find if you say manually switch off the Whites you need to cycle through the timer settings again to reprogram the unit.

We couldn't hang our light where the tank sits so I worked up a lighting stand out of some scrap 1/8in ply wood. Check it out!

Excuse the cyano issue we had in the tank, its gone now and replaced by a GHA issue.

The timer is easy to setup. Though I found if you messed with the timer (say turn off channel 1 manually) it messes up the timer programming and you need to cycle through the options again.

We had an issue where we couldn't not hang the light where the tank was so I worked up a little light stand for the top of the tank. Forgive the terrible cyano issue we had, its now been replaced by GHA!

I like the mount. I might even swipe your concept because I'm going to be making a canopy and the RMS system just won't work with it.

Sorry, by auto-mode, I mean auto on/off (timer) mode. If this mode is not selected, the programmed on/off timer will not take effect. That is what I experience.

Sure is true - I knew this from participating in this thread but last night I did the weekly 5% ramp up of each channel and forgot to go back to the auto mode. Sure enough I wake up at midnight and the lights are still on!

I changed them to the 'he-something' auto mode but since it was past the programmed off time I manually turned them off. I am in the office now wondering if they came on at the normal 12noon/1pm times..

These can be a little tricky. Anytime I make any adjustment I found you have to go back through setting C1 "on" & "off", C2 "on" & "off"

Tedious to say the least but I'm still happy with these lights.
