LED lights question

Hello, I have recently purchased a live tank off of craigslist and was wondering about the LED lights that came with it. The lights that came with the tank were the MARS AQUA 165 W LED lights, the link will be below. I had a couple of main questions about the lights, first of all the lights have adjustable knobs for the blue and white LED's and I was told the blue light is the only light that really matters for coral growth while the white light is mainly just for aesthetics. ( At the moment that blue light is at 100% and the white is at around 45% on both of the fixtures (the tank is a 72 gallon bow front) I was also told to replace the yellow white led bulb for another led bulb. Is that true ( for the bulb and for the blue/ white lights) and is my intensity of the lights right for coral growth or should I change them? Also another question I have is that the lights are currently about 14 inches away from the water and I was wondering if I should lower them or keep them there.

Thanks for the help and sorry for so many questions!

Corals zooxanthellae (algae) use mostly (not exclusively) blue to violet spectrum for photosynthetsis. That's how they feed the coral. Add enough white to make the tank look the color you want to look at.

100% blue and 20% white is a bit extreme. The corals should be fine with that. Do you like the look?

I have a similar Chinese fixture and I run 100% blue and 50% white. My tank has run for 3 years and it took time to acclimate the corals to that level of light. Don't make big changes to the amount of light. Think of the white and blue being added together and keep the total number stable.

The MarsAqua isn't quite as strong as most of the Chinese fixtures because they run their 3 watt leds at only 1.8 or 1.9 watts/led. Most of the other fixtures run at 2.2 watts/led. Just be aware and only bump up your total light number by 10% every week or two.

I wouldn't worry about replacing any leds unless the color in the tank really annoys you! It certainly isn't going to harm anything in the tank.
