is a 2pks evergrow dimable aquarium coral reef led grow light 165w output ful spectrum with wifi controller for
iphone and android phone is this a good light

I don't have the wifi version, but I have several other EverGrow led fixtures and they are a good manufacturer most of the time. I have EverGrow, OceanRevive (made by EG), ReefBreeders (made by EG) and ReefRadiance (made by EG but RR has lousy service). The EverGrow fixtures I bough 3 years ago have been the best of the bunch.

What's the difference between the ever grow and Mars Aqua lights. They look very similar in design.

They are very similar but they are sure not the same! EverGrow does make ReefBreeders, OceanRevive and one other brand, but I don't think they make MarsAqua.

I haven't had the opportunity to inspect a MarsAqua close up so I can't comment on what's inside in terms of heat sinks or fan quality. But almost every other inexpensive Chinese made led fixture, even those made by companies other than EverGrow, run 3 watt Bridgelux/Epistar leds at 2.2 watts per led. For some reason MarsAqua is running the same leds at 1.8 to 1.9 watts per led. It's not a huge difference, but my guess is the PAR of a MarsAqua will be 15% lower than the others at the water surface and maybe as much as 20% to 25% lower at 24" deep in a tank. Now I run my led fixtures at 90% to 100% power on the blue channel and I wouldn't like to see the PAR reduced by 20% or more just because they want to run them at lower power (maybe cheaper drivers?). :debi:

How many would I need for a 60 inch tank?

How many what? There are a dozen different models and sizes of fixtures?

My personal choice would be two ReefBreeders Photon 24 fixtures. They are 24" long and they do sunrise/sunset. But they cost more than just manual dimmer models.

If you want to keep costs down, or don't care about sunrise/sunset ability (your fish and corals really don't care), then I'd go with two or three OceanRevive T247 fixtures. Two for starters, or if there aren't going to be any sps. If you want sps corals I'd do three. More light (PAR) and if one should fail, two can keep the system happy while the third gets fixed.
