LED over SPS?

For you guys with leds, the AI sol blue more specifically, are you having good growth over your SPS tanks? I am in debate if I want the AI sol Led for my elos midi, or the elos e power 250 watt halide. The halide is going to give off a lot of heat and that is my main concern. Also, if you have any pics showing your growth with led that would be appreciated. You can use it as an excuse to show off your aquariums ;)

Thanks.

I'll post some pictures later tonight when I can get on my desktop machine. I have had excellent growth over the last seven months with my AI Sol Super Blues. I came from MH's, supplemented with VHO's. The change has been great. Low heat load, $30-$40 per month power bill savings, safer, and everyone thinks my reef looks better.

As promised pairs of images about 6 months between shots.

I have many more but these should be some good evidence that you can get good growth with the AI LED system.

I have much the same story as Naturenerd. I use AI blues and the growth is the same as under MH. The color is far better though.

Nice coral growth. I am thinking of going with either the AI sol or the radion. After seeing teh radion on youtube I think I have a winner.

I've got 8 AI's on a 375 that is only 3 months old. I have only had sps frags in tank now for just about 1.5 months. All of the frags have increased in size by 1/3, with some standard acro frags having already doubled in size. I have to believe the growth is a combo of water quality, calc reactor, and lighting that's doing the trick. However, been in this hobby for 20years now and this is the most polyp extension I have seen compared to all previous tanks. Things would have been perfect if not for a bout of ich i'm dealing with in DT, even after QT'ing for 5 weeks. :headwally:

I was also looking into buying some AI. My only concern is my tank is 32" tall and would the AI or radion give off enough PAR in a deep tank.

I'm not getting much growth on my AI sol blues, but the color on the corals look fantastic. Granted, I'm only running them at 10w-24b-76rb. It's over a frag tank right now.

The color on my bonsai and cali tort look amazing, deep rich color, zero browning.

Another example, this is a Hoke Stag that I got when it was about 1" tall. It is now over 4" tall and almost 9" across and growing like a weed. I think these pictures are about 8 months in between and I rotated the coral 180 degrees when I remounted it in its current location. The metal halides gave it a far different look vs the LED's. Enjoy.
