LED question.

Hi,

New to LEDs and contemplating purchasing a 120w led unit but having a bit of problem trying to decide which one is best. Does anyone have any experience with the following led units?

1. 120 watt with (55 led 2 watts bulbs). 30 blues and 25 whites.
2. 120 watt with (1:1 ratio 1 watt bulbs). 60 blues and 60 whites.

I would like to know if both of these have comparable light output in terms of brightness. I also like to achieve a 20 k spectrum so which of these two units will come close to that.

I need to get 3 of these units so before I commit to a purchase, any help will be much appreciated.

Need more info.....tank depth, coral types, LED manufacturer / particular product, etc. I'm using LEDs on my main display tank, but I have 18 Panorama Pro modules over a 48"x30"x31" tank. They put out A LOT of light. Success or failure completely depends on getting the correct spectrum and PAR TO your corals.

Sorry,

These leds will go on a 125 gal reef mixed reef. In terms of the manufacturer, there are quite a few of these on Ebay for sale. Most of these are probably manufactured in China. I am also looking at the units from Reef Koi as well. Not looking to spend over 300 on each so the higher end ones are out of my budget as I need to get three of these for a 6 ft tank.

I would avoid the ebay ones they are mixed as far as peoples reports go on them-
I am unfamiliar with reefkoi so I can't offer any help there-

You may actually do best with a solderless DIY kit from rapid led- That will allow full customization for an affordable price.
