Have a screw in type FLO bulb over my refuge now, want to go with an LED light.

Anybody have expierience with the PAR 38 screw in type LED bulbs, or am I better suited to get an LED strip light. AS I stated it is strictly for the refuge for cheato growth.

As long as you stay away from anything that is for a reef you should be fine. You want red/pink/yellow/daylight type lights. I use a power saver 35w daylight bulb and it grows algae like a pro. There are cheap pink led setups too especially made for refugiums.

How big is this fuge? Just use 660nm red and royal blue led lights, with more red.
For such a small water volume, a compact fluorescent light bulb is not that much worse than leds.

Thanks for the responses guys, my refuge/sump is a 40 breeder partioned off with rubble rock on one end, chaeto in the middle, followed by the skimmer and return pump at the end.

Brando - i checked out Fathomled, had not heard of them but I may try the one they have.

A 40 breeder!? I'm used to small fuges.
fathom led is good.
Any cheap "grow bulb" par38 with red and blue will do the trick. 3 or 4 will be good.
