LED Stick

Ok, so I have the most recent firmware and control. Now I plugged my LED stick SIMUL DB-L in to L3-L4 and the stick is orange. It just stays bright orange. Now what? I really don't understand the instructions in the manual?( I guess I am one of those people that likes plug x into y and click on 1 and 2)
I see Illumination 1 - 8, is that for 8 different lights? All I see in the back of the Profilux is L1-L2 or L3-L4, so I click on Illumination 1 and it has 4 programs set on lines 1-4 at different intensities at different times. Now what? I changed times and intensities and nothing happens? I switched the LED stick to L1-L2 and no light comes out of it?
Also, I have a 6 socket digital power bar that is plugged into S1-S4, is that the correct place? It has spots for 2 phone jacks, one goes to S1-S4 on the Profilux, what does the other plug into?
I noticed the light is on for S5 and power on the powerbar, but nothing is plugged into it? Also, I was reading about S7-S8, but the power cord only has 6 plugs? Wouldn't it be S7-S10 if I hooked the 4 plug power bar into S5-S8?
Another question I have is that I have a 4-pump Profilux doser, where does it plug into on the profilux computer? S5-S8?
Also, where does it plug into on the power bar?
I really don't understand how to tell the Powerbar to turn on a particular device?
Sorry for all of the questions, but I am having a rough time with this thing, and I thought I was pretty good with instructions.
Thanks, Jeff

Hi

First and foremost as with the warning label make sure you never plug anything into the S ports other than power bars and dosing pumps

You are correct that the digital bar goes into S1-4 and the other S socket can be used for an analogue bar if you wish

You mention two LED types Simu-L and DB-L do you have both or just confused on style? But you mention orange which tells me you have a Simu-L full effect stick

The issue you are having is that you are not assigning anything, so to start with go to the 1-10Vinterface and assign L3 to illumination 1, and assign L4 to Illumination 2 now go to illumination 1 and program how you wish the reds to react (I think default L3 is red if not its blue but you can figure that out)

Make sure illumination 1 and 2 are set to dimmable.

Now for the power bar, again you have to tell the power bar what you want it to do. So go to the power socket menu and set the power bar up for what your preffered functions

Please look at each chapter in the manual for this especially the power bars and what port is used for what on the back of the profiLux, it is no more than a matter of learning your way around, providing you do not have L ports crossed with S ports you cant damage it by just playing and learning.

Ok, I assigned the 1-10V L3 to Illumination1 and L4 to Illumination 2. I don't see where you can program how the Reds or any other color react? I saw one page with a light graph, but I didn't see where or how you tell the light what to do?
Also, my 1 LED stick reads: ProfiluxSimuDB-L
I feel like alot of the instructions in the Manual are confusing, I am trying my best.
Also, on my 6 outlet digital powerbar it is connected to S1-S4, I am only using 1 cable to connect it to the profilux, the power light is on, the comm light is on, and S5 is lit up? Is that normal since there is nothing plugged into S5?
And just to be clear I can plug the Profilux Doser into S5-S8 port?
and would I plug the power somewhere in the 6 outlet powerbar?
Thanks for your help, Jeff

You program the timing in screen illumination 1 and illumination 2

Just select edit time top right

If it reads DB-L it has no red component it is Dark blue only so only has one channel so only use L4

Go into the power socket function screen and you will see what S5 is set to, if you set to always off it will switch off.

Dosing pump can plug into the second western port of the power bar and daisy chain it, you will then have to program it as socket 7-10 follow the manual for this.

The light seems to be working, but I noticed that it started all Orange, then was Orange and Light Blue, now it's back to Orange? What is this stick supposed to do? Sunrise/Sunset?
Does it flash? How do I tell it to do different colors at different times?

the lower channel (L1 respectively L3) controls the blue LEDs, the lower channel (L2 respectively L4) controls the orange/red LEDs (if you didn't perform a channel swap)

if a thunderstorm is in progress the stick will flash

Cool Thunderstorm!!!! Can't wait to show everyone.
Ok, so I plugged the light back into L1-L2 and programmed the 1-10V,. So L1 is Blue light, and L2 is Orange-Red correct? Should I program the Blue for night and the Orange-Red for day correct? I am trying to figure that one out since the lights on my tank would overpower them so I am not sure that they would be useful being on while the Halides are on? It seems like it should be used as a warm up to the T5's/Halides?
Also, will these be affected when I program the moonlight under simulation? and there is a button that says program LED should I program each selection that is offered? and what is the PTC button?
Thanks.

well the blue is for moon and the red is for sun rise and sunset so you can decide how you ish to achieve these results.

Dont worry about program LED unless you wish to change the colour channel.

PTC - ProfiLux temperature controller
