Anyone ever dive in Lembah and care to comment on it? Also who did you dive with? I have done Wakatobi in the past and am debating Lembah or just going back to Wakatobi.

Yes!

We spent 3 weeks diving at KBR several years ago when the property was new. It has changed hands a couple of times since and I'm told that it's back to what a dive resort should be.

There are a couple of live aboards that are doing Bunaken and Lembeh now as well.

I've heard that Hairball is no longer the spectacular muck dive that it once was, however Police Pier is pretty much guaranteed for a wonderpus. Also, flamboyant cuttlefish were quite prolific recently. Angel's Window was a nice 'pretty' reef.

But.. having been to Wakatobi... how can you go wrong by going back?

If Adventure Komodo was still running, that would be good. I have heard positive reports on Pegasus, a live aboard out of Sorong. Lots of places to see in Indo.

We spent a few days in Lembeh on a recent to Bunaken to produce a film documentary and photo journal for a new MPA artisan center. We went with Bastianos. Not incredibly memorable really. Muck diving was trashed but the critters are there.

We are going to have 7 days at KBR after 9 at Bunaken in august. We did 14 days at Bunaken last year and really loved it.

So is the Lembah straight not as full of life as it once was? Doesnt sound good from the last 2 posts? :(

It's just unfortunate how many boats spill oil and garbage in the strait. You see a piece of trash every 10 ft. I make a living visiting marine protected areas; it's my career, and I've never witnessed that much abuse and neglect in such a beautiful place.

Sorry quoted the wrong person. I meant this one.

I have a couple of hundred dives in Lembeh straits. Very good critter diving especially if you are a photographer. Some of the muck dives are somewhat strewn with junk but the junk becomes home for critters. Visibility is marginal in most of the muck sites and it is good to have a guide that knows the particular dive sites.

snorvich. thats alot of dives! I see you have done 2500 in SE Asia. Thats awesome. Did you work and live out there? I am going to sulawesi again this year. i really love it there.

What area of SE Asia is your favourite and has the best reefs? Irian Jaya/Raja Ampat? I would love to go there, but its alot more expensive than sulawesi.

Any info would be great thanks.

P.S sorry for the thread hijack.
