Leonardo's Formosa Forest 2

Holy cow! I was just wandering along this forum I'm new in and I couldn't help not noticing how similar the outlook of your tank setup is compared to my current 80gal cube project in Finland:

Especially the similarity of overflow chamber, where I'm also going to put exactly the same kind of plumming as you have, got my attention
Keep on posting, this is inspiring thread to follow!

alsshon, do you have a build thread? great looking tank!

Thanks! Not yet, but I'm going to make one shortly. I still got some technical equipment orders to make and I'm figuring out where to get some good quality live rock when the live rock availability in Finland is currently quite low. But more thoughs when I set up the thread. :)

Leo, it's been two and a half months since you updated, you must be back by now.
I hope everything is fine with you and your reef, please give us some updates.

Thanks for your posts guys :) I know I've been gone for a while, mainly because I was traveling in Europe and China for some months.
Besides that I experienced another setback, problems with the temp. probe when I was in China. Temperature rose to a steady 90 F during two weeks, I don't have to explain the effects I think ;) I lost almost all the corals I collected and grew out (again).
This event in combination with the previous events (semi-crash during FF2 setup and another AEFW outbreak just before that) made me reconsider the hobby.
I took a step back and focused on other things while minimizing tank maintenance.

Now, after some weeks (months) I decided to continue with the hobby and this tank because there is really a part missing in my life when I stop completely.
You can find some photo's I made in China on my website, I hope you enjoy. Within a few weeks, when I finished battling the Cyano and Dinos that popped up during the die-off, I will give an update.
It feels good to be back in the hobby and on RC and I will continue with new energy!

Leonardo, I am sorry to hear of the issues you had with your tank; I had feared that something was amiss when the posts stopped but I'm glad you've decided to stay in the hobby. I'm looking forward to following your re-rebuild.

Best of luck!

Leonardo,
I am so pleased to hear that you have decided to keep a system going!

You're such a valued contributor and skilled reef keeper - we are better as a community with you here. If you need any help or frags or whatever as you rebuild, please just PM.

Sucks to hear about the crash :(, glad to hear you're continuing the tank though :).
I was in Holland a while back, so too bad I didn't get to meet you, but next time I guess.
